Services for Gene Archer, 75, R.R. 6, Latham Park, who died Monday night in Rockford Memorial hospital where he was admitted last Friday, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Julian-Poorman funeral home, 304 N. 5th st.

The Rev. Gerald B. Robinson, pastor of Owen Center Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be in Owen Center cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 o'clock Wednesday night.

Mr. Archer, a lifelong Winnebago county resident, was born in Cherry Valley. He came to Rockford with his parents, Abel and Lucy Busch Archer, about 60 years ago. He married the former Dora Cutter here March 23, 1904.

An employee of the George D. Roper corporation for the last 24 years, Mr. Archer was a member of Owen Center Methodist church and Owen Center grange.

Surviving are his widow; a son, John Eugene Archer, Waukesha, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Ruth Rousch, Mrs. Vivian Mahan, Charles, Kenneth, and Fred Archer, Leonard Fulton, and Jim and Robert Jesberger, all of Rockford.
