On July 10, 1926, in Eagletown, Oklahoma, Mitchell Cubit and Rosa Lean Collins Cubit become the proud parents of a beautiful, precious baby girl. They named her Dorothy Mae. Dorothy grew up in Colbert, Oklahoma, with one brother and two sisters. They moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she started her family. Dorothy Mae began her career as a long-term care provider during this time, as well. When she wasn't sharing her love with others, she was an outstanding member of the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Reeves Addition area of Muskogee., where she served the Lord faithfully as Church Treasure for many years. In her 86th Season of Life, Dorothy Mae Atkinson answered the Master's beckoning on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was met at the Golden Gates by her mother and father, Mitchell and Rosa Lean Cubit, her brother, George Cubit, two sisters, Lenora Bell and Carrie Wattley, two daughters, Brenda Faye and Grace Ann Atkinson.
