Mary was born in the Krueger family farm home in Winsted Lake Town Ship, Winsted, McLeod County, Minnesota. When Mary was eight (8) years old her family sold their farm in Winsted and purchased a 320 acre farm two (2) miles south of Cold Spring, Minnesota. The family transported all of their household, farm animals, farm equipment and personal possesions by use of the Great Northern Railroad.

She attended Stearns County School District #17, which was located at the end of their farm property. The walking distance to the school was one-forth mile.

After completing her education she assisted her parents on the farm and on occasion would assist neighbors with their household work during the delivery of a new born child at the heighbors home.

She met Jacob Schneider who worked on a farm near her parents farm and after several years, married Jacob. They were married on 04 February 1911 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wakefield Town Ship, Cold Spring, Stearns County, Minnesota. Of this marriage three children were born:

Joseph Mark Schneider 27 Jul 1912 - 08 Oct 1994
Pauline Mary Schneider 14 Aug 1914 - 24 Feb 2007
Louise Elizabeth Schneider 28 Jun 1920 -

Jacob and Mary purchased his parents farm and had a very productive farm and well managed operation until 1945, when Jacob took sick. His Dr. evaluated him and he was diagnosed to have "Consumption" or some times referred to as Tuberculosis". The Dr. contacted The Walker Minnesota State Sanatorium, a Sanatorium for Consumptives, and Jacob was admitted.

Mary, the children, relatives, neighbors and friends were permitted to visit Jacob, and did visit Jacob at the Sanatorium. Most visits took place on Sunday afternoons or during the Holidays.

Mary and some of the children continued to manage/work the farm. After some time, she sold the farm and moved to Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota. She died at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield, Meeker County, Minnesota and was buried beside her husband Jacob in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Cold Spring, Stearns County, Minnesota. djk
