Joshua Browning, husband of Lydia Godwin, was born in North Carolina, about 1789. He was a farmer. He and his wife together raised their family in Georgia. They moved south to Polk County, Florida before 1880 and lived in the Green Pond area. The date of his death is not known; however, it is believed that he and his wife are buried in the Green Pond Cemetery.
