DR. J. B. ACTON IS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Eubank Physician Found Dead In Bed Early Friday Morning; Funeral Service Monday.

Dr. J. B. Acton 56, a prominent physician in the northern part of the county, was found dead in bed at 9:30 o'clock Friday morning. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Dr. Acton sustained a fractured ankle in a fall at his home several weeks ago, but was recovering from the injury and was apparently in good health when he retired Thursday night. His body was discovered by his wife when she attempted to awake him Friday morning to secure some medicine for a neighbor.

When the neighbor called, Mrs. Acton explained that the physician was still sleeping, but that it was about time for him to wake up. She then entered his room and discovered that he was dead. County Coroner E. B. Hargis was called, and he made an investigation reporting the death due to natural causes.

Dr. Acton was a native of the Eubank community. He was educated at the medical school of the University of Louisville, and spent all of his professional life practicing in the Eubank section with the exception of two years when he practiced at Stearns. He had a large number of friends throughout the county, and was highly respected both professionally and as a citizen. He was a member of the Pulaski County Medical Society and the State Medical Association.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Eubank Christian Church and burial took place in the Eubank Cemetery. The following physicians served as casketbearers: W. R. Cundiff, Carl Norfleet, A. J. Wahle, Brent Weddle, R. C. Sievers, W. M. Price and E. A. Steiner. Surviving are his wife and four daughters. Sympathy is extended members of the family in their bereavement.
