Cletus J. Albert, 88, of Trenton, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Carlyle Healthcare Center, Carlyle, IL.
Mr. Albert was born January 19, 1925 in Ferdinand, IN to Marie (Uebelhor) and Robert Albert, Sr.; they preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Albert; brothers, Fred Albert and Robert Albert, Jr.; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Eileen Albert, Betty Albert, Ellis Hilgeman, Gilbert Mayes, Leto and Myrtle Streif, Pearl and Harold Becker, Lorene and Thomas Gregor, and Cletus Mersinger.
He married Rita Streif on July 16, 1946 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lebanon; she survives in Trenton.
Also surviving are his daughters, Darlene (Richard) Roberts of Chicago, Marcia (John) Lercher of Trenton, and Brenda (Don) Paluczak of Arnold, MO; 4 grandchildren, Shawn (Jennifer) Lercher, Nicholas (Christy) Lercher, Ryan Paluczak, and Christopher Albert; 4 great-grandchildren, Derek, Courtney, Ava, and Liam Lercher; a brother, Ivo (Joanelle) Albert of Leesburg, FL; sisters, Norida Hilgeman of Ferdinand, IN and Romilda Mayes of Louisville, KY; and a sister-in-law, Marian Mersinger of O'Fallon.
Cletus retired as a Fuel Storage Leader from Scott Air Force Base and he was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Men's Sodality, Server and Choir in Trenton, American Legion Post 778 in Trenton, and an Honorary Life member of The Trenton Knights of Columbus Council 2932.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Trenton.
Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 8:30-10:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the Carlyle Healthcare Center Activity Department and will be received at the funeral home
The Trenton American Legion will hold services at 7:00 pm and the Trenton K of C will hold services at 7:30 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
