Caroline Winkelmann was the daughter of Johann Winkelmann and Anna Christina Dams (or Dahms), and second wife of Christof Brose. They married in Gross Densen, Filehne, Posen, on 7 Mar 1855. She and Christof's blended family emigrated to the US in Oct 1868. She was the mother of Gustav Erdmann Brose, Pauline Bertha Brose, Emma Louisa Brose, and Alwine Brose. Three other children died before the family emigrated. On 6 Jul 1898, she married Frederick Buschke in Crystal Lake, Marquette, WI.
