Son of Jonathan & Lois (Parker) Burr was born about 1795. He went to learn the blacksmith trade of Bartlett Damon in Hardscrabble, but left his work to enlist in the Army, in the war of 1812. After the war he came back and finished his trade, and carried on blacksmithing and hame-making in Hardscrabble until his death.
