Carl grew up in Burnet, TX, with his mother, step-father, and sisters. He was drafted into the Army, where he had a truck accident and was honorably discharged. He married Nettie Grace Murphy and had one step-son, David Shropshire, and three more children, Curtis Doyle, Francis Lee, and Carl Hutchinson. He is survived by his current wife of 21 years, Betty, sisters A. Dean, J. Lorrain, Johnny Katherine and his children. He died peacefully at home in his sleep from complications with Emphysema, Asthma, and a bout with bronchitis toward the end.
