Mrs. Lucy Evelena "Tootsie" Bingham, age 90, Johnson City, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Bingham was born in Pikeville, Kentucky and daughter of the late Robert & Mabel Burton Bingham. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bingham was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Horace Dale Bingham and two grandchildren, Donna Gail Isaacs and Michael Chad Bingham.

She was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church where her husband was Pastor. She worked in the church with several different ministries including GA's, Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Crafts.

Mrs. Bingham volunteered at Stratton Elementary School, serving as "Room Mother" for the Title One Reading Class. She served as PTA Vice-President, receiving a Life-Time Pin Membership. She assisted in giving out lunches at the Civitan Park and helped with the Girl Scouts. She loved to read, do church work, crafts and volunteer anywhere she could. She was a very loving, giving, sweet, kind and wonderful person.

Survivors include her children, Anita Dralle (Dale), Illinois, Jimmy Bingham (Sona), Kingsport, Johnny Bingham (Debbie), Johnson City, Dale Bingham (Theona), Mohawk, TN and Ann Sheppard (Ken), Johnson City; grandchildren, Jeff Isaacs, Todd Bingham, Bradley Bingham, Brittney Cantrell, Khristy Sheppard; step-grandchildren, Shannon Black and Preston Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Chandler, Ellison and Alley; and close family friend, Mary Humphreys.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her doctors at Johnson City Medical Center, Hospice, Home Health and special friend, Mildred Rice for their wonderful loving care and a very special thank you to Johnson City Transit, we don't know what we would have done without you.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, April 30, 2012 at Monte Vista Burial Park.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
