His wife Sarah joined with him in a deed of gift to their son Elnathan, Dec. 17, 1778. They united in a quit-claim deed of Pope heirs Jan. 24, 1754. He made a division with Content Dexter of land they owned in common 22 July, 1755; he gave lands to his sons Prince and Noah in 1778. He was first ensign, then captain, and later major of the 2d regt. of Bristol co. militia."*
