Thomas Pearce, Jr. was the son of Thomas Pearce, Sr., 17xx-1793, who died testate in Washington County, Kentucky leaving a will written Apr. 10, 1793 and probated June 6, 1793 and recorded in Will Book #A, on pages 15-16. His father left legacies to his wife Lydia, and children, John, Isaac, Adam, Jacob, William, Thomas, Mary, Betsy, and Tena. The executors to Thomas Pearce, Sr.'s will were Josiah Wilson and Jeremiah Briscoes and the witnesses thereto were: John Sabdusky, John Barnett, and John Springer.

Thomas Pearce, Jr. Married Mary "Polly" Bland, 1796, 1837, on March 21, 1816 in the presence of the Rev. David Thurman, a Baptist minister. This marriage is recorded on page 154 in Marriage Book #1 in the County Clerk's Office in Springfield, Kentucky.

Thomas Pearce, Jr., 1791-1836, wrote his will on July 12, 1836 and it was probated on Aug. 22, 1836 and recorded in Washington County, Kentucky Will Book #F, on page 375. In this will he named his wife Mary, "all my children" unnamed and under age. He mentions the dower interest of his mother, Lydia, in the hands of James McElroy in connection with the heirs of Thomas Pearce [Sr.]. He named John Funk, Samuel Bland, and Mary Pearce his excecutors and this will was witnessed by William M. Beall and Isaac Pearce.

On May 30, 1938, when Hattie M. Scott of Frankfort, Kentucky was recording old cemeteries, she noted that this couple's graves were enclosed in iron fencing and that the weeds were so bad she wasn't sure of their dates. She gave them the surname of PARGE.
