Olive Gertrude Agnew, 97, a country school teacher in Venango County School District before 1910, died Saturday of congestive heart failure at her home on Walliston Avenue, Emsworth.

Mrs. Agnew was honored last year as the oldest living pupil of the Rockdale School in Venango County.

She was a charter member of the Emsworth PTA and the Ladies Aid of the former Clifton Presbyterian Church of Emsworth, a supervisor of the sewing room at Dixmont State Hospital and served on the advisory board of Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue.

Mrs. Agnew is survived by three daughters, Florence A. Forte of Verona, Gertrude A. Bounds of La Place, La., and Ann A. Agnew of Emsworth; a son, Dr. Harold S. of Arcadia, Fla.; a brother, E. Fred Lockard of Greensburg, Westmoreland County; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, 529 California Ave., Avalon. Burial will be in East Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Butler County.

The family suggests that contributions be made to Suburban General Hospital, South Jackson Avenue, Pittsburgh 15202, or to the Emsworth United Presbyterian Church, Hilands Avenue, Emsworth 15202.
