Found at Genealogy Bank: An article from the Boston Herald published September 18, 1939 reports that a Providence man died of a heart attack while attending an outing in Warwick, RI. John Budano of Providence, drowned when he became exhausted after he swam too far from an anchored boat at Rocky Point, an amusement park at Warwick RI. A companion, Ralph Martinelli of 71 Eastern Avenue, Worcester, could not reach him before he went down. The body was recovered two hours later.

John BUDANO, 42, of 83 Prospect Street, was drowned yesterday afternoon when he suffered cramps while swimming at Rocky Point, Warwick, R.I. The body was recovered by members of Coniment and Oakland Beach Fire Department after dragging the area two hours.
BUDANO was a paint mixer for Prager Co. Inc. He was born in Italy, and served with the Italian Army during the World War. He had lived 18 years in this city.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucy (CANCELMO) BUDANO; six daughters, the Misses Josephine, Mary, Angelina, Lucy, Rita, and Amelia BUDANO; and two sons, Michael and Ercolina BUDANO, all of Worcester;
