He was born January 21, 1905, in Holiday, Tex; the son of Ira P. and Maud (Webb) Assiter.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (BeDell) Assiter; one daughter, Naomi R. Reese of Dallas, TX; one step-daughter, Ramona Brown of Evansville, Ind; one sister, Sallie Dickerson of Spring, TX; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son Edward J; one brother, Dennis; one sister, Kitty Mae Farley, and two grandchildren.
He worked for many years in the oil field as a tool pusher.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 3 pm at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
