When Mary Polly Mayberry was born on August 1, 1808, in Henderson, Kentucky, her father, Frederick, was 51, and her mother, Priscilla, was 35. She married William W. George on November 1, 1827, in Hamilton, Illinois. They had seven children in 22 years. She died on November 1, 1869, in Wayne City, Illinois, at the age of 61, and was buried in Fairfield, Illinois.

On Monday, November 1st, Mrs. Mary George, wife of W. W. George, of this place, died at the residence of Mr. Geo. Shaw, two miles east of town. Mrs. George was well-known here as she was among the pioneers of this country. Born in Henderson County, Kentucky, in 1808, she was 61 years and 3 months old when she died. She was married in Hamilton County, Ills., Nov. 1st, 1827, and had been married 42 years to a day. For years she lived a consistent member of the Methodist Church.
