He was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Anderson resident. He retired from Container Corp. in 1985 and was a member of the American Legion.
Ike was a tech sergeant in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Bronze Star during World War II in the South Pacific Theater.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Kaye Lamey of Anderson; son, Gary C. Lamey and Diane Thomas of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Terry N. (wife, Kristen) Lamey of Brownsburg and Joel D. (wife, Cindy) Lamey of Fishers; and great-granddaughter, Aryn N. Lamey of Brownsburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Lamey; mother, Esta (Langley) Knupp; stepfather, Walter Knupp; brothers, Pete Lamey and Jim Lamey; and sisters, Ireta Hockenberry and Charlotte Lamey.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Gettinger officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
