HOYT – John David Mullin, 54, of Hoyt, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

He was born November 2, 1958 in Topeka, the son of Robert and Elsie Randall Mullin. He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1977.

John worked for Hallmark Cards in Topeka for 36 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoyt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother, Robert Mullin, Jr., and a nephew, David Hainline.

Survivors include a brother, Richard A. Mullin and wife Linda, St. Joseph, MO; two sisters, Vicki L. Nelson, Mayetta, and Betty J. Hainline, Hoyt; nieces and nephews, Robert A. Nelson, III, Tamara L. Nelson, Joshua A. Mullin, Misty Brobst, Justin Hainline, Andrea Hainline and Ashley Hainline; great nieces and nephews, Jena, Devin, Jordan, Mason, Breanna, Hannah, Clayton, J.T., Triston and Tehra; and a great-great niece, Jennifer.

Cremation is planned. There will be an informal celebration of John's life at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial will be later in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Lawrence. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 280, Hoyt, 66440.
