Arley E. Ward, 85, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away October 8, 2005 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville.

Born in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Jahugh and Sarah Weaver ward. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and served in the South Pacific Theatre. He was retired from General Motors Corporation in Parma, Ohio.

Surviving are his wife, Lula Lavoo (Jean) Singleton Ward; a son, Ronald Ward and his wife Teresa of Grantsville; a step daughter, Glenda Berkheimer and her husband Joseph of Oberlin, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 11 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial will be in the Ward-Wilson Cemetery near Grantsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
