Cecelia G. Finney, 80, of Tamaroa, passed away at 2:45 A.M., Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta.
Cecelia was a homemaker. She had been a waitress at Rosie's. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was born February 28, 1933 at Todds Mill, IL, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Kurtz) Ballheimer.
She married Robert E. Finney on June 29, 1954 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2004.
She is survived by ten children – Cynthia Finney of Pinckneyville, Melissa Finney of Pinckneyville, Robert Finney, Jr. of Lake Havasu, AZ, Michael Finney of Clinton, TN, Elizabeth Jacobs of Prescott Valley, AZ, Brenda Finney of Pinckneyville, Timothy Joe Finney of Tampa, FL, Jeffrey Finney of Pinckneyville, Janice Finney of Carbondale, and Judith Wheat of Harriman, TN, one brother – John Ballheimer of Pinckneyville, seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son – James Finney, three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
