Eddie J. Baxa, son of Joe and Emma Kalivoda Baxa, was born September 20, 1909, at Cuba, and died September 15, 1986 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 25 days.
He attended school at Meter near Cuba. On January 7, 1932 he married Lillian Trecek at Belleville. Three children were born to this union. He and his family farmed south of Hebron, and had lived here for 55 years.
He was baptized in the Methodist Church in Hebron, in 1974, and was a member of the Oregon Trail Riders Saddle Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Charles, and a grandson, Rodney.
Survivors are his wife, Lillian of Hebron; one daughter, Mrs. Lorence (Romona) Kenning of Hebron; a son, Dr. Robert G. Baxa of Beatrice, Nebr.; a brother, Elmer Baxa of Belleville Health Care Center; a sister, Mrs. Glenard (Viola) Brabec of Deaver, Wyo.
Funeral services were held September 18, from the United Methodist Church of Hebron, conducted by Rev. William Anderson. Burial was in Tabor Cemetery.
