DICKINSON — Billie Frances Burton, 74, of Dickinson, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2005, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Texas. She was born on September 26, 1930, to Slim and Lura McCollum in Big Springs, Texas. Billie was a loving wife and mother and a member of Paul's Union Church in La Marque since 1937.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother: Elizabeth Melton, and her sister, Toopie Hester.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Herbert H. Burton; her daughter, Penny Wingerson and her husband Brian; her son, Herbert Wayne Burton and his wife Linda; her sister, Bobbye Kaye Hollins and her husband Ezra; and her five grandchildren, Amy Martin, Warren Burton, Aaron Burton, Crystal Hensley, and Amanda Bosque; and one great grandchild on the way.

A visitation service will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2005, at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in Dickinson, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Baurs of Paul's Union Church officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Paul's Union Church Restoration, 1709 Oak Street, La Marque, Texas 77568.
