JOHNSTOWN — BITTNER– John W., 90, Johnstown, died Jan. 13, 2012, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1921, in Meyersdale, son of Charles W. and Lulu (Imhoff) Bittner. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Wilbur Dean; and sisters, Pearl Reynolds, Julia Jones, Mary Minnick and Anaruth Brubaker. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, former Georgeanna Williams; daughters, Carol, married to James Griffith, Johnstown, and Sharon, married to Kenneth Brown, Lower Burrell, Pa.; grandsons, Adrian Brown, Jordan Griffith, Joel Brown and Reid Griffith. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific area on Motor Torpedo Squadron 12. Retired from Bethlehem Steel with 22 1/2 years service and Verizon with 22 years service. Member of Moxham Colonial Church of the Brethren. There will be no viewing at John's request. Private funeral service. Interment, Richland Cemetery. Family is being served by Geisel Funeral Home, Dale.
