JAMES EDWARD PRICE

James Edward Price passed away in Greenville, PA the evening of March 9th. He spent his first sixteen years in Atlantic City, N.J., then joined the Army toward the end of World War II. He was sent to Japan where he served as Provost Sergeant in Fukuoka, and later as a CID operative. Upon his return to the United States, he attended and was graduated from the Virginia Military Institute as a Civil Engineer, after which he obtained a P.E. license. He was commissioned as a Combat Engineer Officer during the Korean Conflict.

Upon his return to civilian life, he was a Project Engineer for Esso Standard Oil, was a Project Manager for Commonwealth Oil Refinery in Puerto Rico, and continued his career as a corporate executive for U.S. international engineering companies, for whom he marketed design and construction services for complete oil refineries and petrochemical plants to governments in the Middle East and Africa, with specific emphasis on Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf Emirates. For several years he and his family resided in London, where he was elected a Founding Director of the London Petroleum Club. They then resided for ten years in Beirut, Lebanon. After twenty years abroad, he and his family returned to the United States, settling in Virginia, where he became President of Fairfield Energy Ltd. New York. He retired to Greenville, PA. and continued independent consulting activities until his death.

He was dedicated to his family, believed in integrity in all actions, and lived by the code of Honor, Duty, and Country. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Gibson Price, of Greenville, two daughters, Pamela El Bezzaoui and Lesley Price of Virginia, a granddaughter, Briana Watson, a grandson, Edward George, and a great granddaughter, Jenna Watson, also of Virginia. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Washington, D.C.
