Mae was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in numerous callings such as primary worker, scouting and enjoyed doing a lot of genealogy. She worked with her husband in the Logan Temple Baptistry as well. She was fond of handiwork like sewing and quilting. She loved picnics and camping. Mae was a cook for the school district and also for the Franklin County Hospital for a number of years.
Mae is survived by her husband Tharol of Idaho Falls; her children Shauna (Con) Decker of Rigby, Idaho; Roxann (Carl) Owen of Iona, Idaho; Rick (Brenda) Porter of Farmington, Utah; and Stan (Carol) Porter of Evanston, Wyo.; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, as well as six step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers: Morris (RuthAnn) Gregory of Preston; Jay (BarDee) Gregory of Sunset, Utah; Darvel (Kathy) Gregory of Blackfoot, Idaho; Garald (Nyla) Porter, serving and LDS Mission in Hong Kong; and a sister, Janice (Kent) Kindred, serving an LDS mission in Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Dennis, a grandson Jerry Hodges, and two sisters Dorma and Karma Gregory.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6 at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston with Bishop Boyd Southwick conducting. A viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Webb Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
