Joseph Wantz, 65, of 522 3rd St., SE, for many years a Massillon businessman, died at 12:10 am this morning at the city hospital, following an illness of nine weeks. Mr. Wantz was born in Alsace-Lorraine and came to America when seven years of age. He was In business in Massillon for 18 years at 522 3rd St., SE, but retired 12 years ago when he was succeeded by his sons, Howard and Edward Wantz. Besides his sons, Mr. Wantz is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Wentzel Wantz; a daughter. Mrs. Frank Paul, of Massillon; a sister, Mrs. Jane Dick, of Canton, and a brother, Lewis Wantz, of Stanwood. The body will be removed this afternoon from the Heitger funeral parlors to the residence of Howard Wantz, 312 Sippo Ave., SE. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, at St. Joseph's Catholic church. Interment will be made in St. Joseph's 'cemetery.
