Racing driver. Captain the Honourable Peter Rudyard Aitken was born in Belgravia, London, the second son of Government Minister and newspaper tycoon Lord Beaverbrook. He raced a Maserati 6CM during 1937 and 1938 and in August 1938 bought an ERA-B which he raced in South Africa the following year. During WW2 he gained a commission in the Royal Fusiliers and was wounded. In 1947 during a sailing holiday with friends to Denmark and Sweden, he fell over board. Later at a Stockholm hotel, he complained of chest pains and died.
