Alzbeta (Kral) Honicky was born in August 1850 (per 1900 census) in Lecice, Bohemia. She was the daughter of Vaclav Kral (said to have been born in 1820 in England) and Alice Michalec Honicky. She had one brother, Frantisek Kral (said to have been born in England in 1848). According to family tradition, there was an English onnection. She married Frantisek Honisky on June 9, 1868. The family immigrated to the U.S. in 1884, settling in Nebraska where eith Alzbeta or Frantisek had relatives. Their oldest son, Venny, died shortly after they arrived in Nebraska. Shortly after they arrived, Frantisek became ill with what was described as "cancer of the head" (probably a brain tumor). He died April 14, 1887, leaving her a widow with several children to raise.
