Vida Eleen Swaner
03/24/1940 - 04/18/2012

Vida Eleen Swaner of West Jordan, Utah passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday April 18, 2012. She was born in Vernal, Utah on March 24, 1940 to James and Vida Clark. She was raised in Vernal, Utah, attended and graduated from Uintah High School and later earned a Cosmetology degree in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Jack Alma Swaner on 6/8/1957 in Vernal, Utah and shared 45 years with the man she loved and cherished until he passed away in 2002. They then adopted their son Rodney R. Swaner and she enjoyed becoming a full time mom. She had many hobbies including visiting with friends and family on her CB radio, golfing, bowling, fishing, reading, caring for her pets, riding horses and occasionally dropping a nickel in the slot machine. Most of all she loved looking over, loving and caring about family and friends. She was sincere, genuine, honest, fair and kind. She knew what it meant to be a mother, aunt, sister and friend. Her loss is great but so are the memories. I love you mom.

She is survived by her son Rodney R. Swaner, her cat Bibbs, mother Vida Clark, sisters Norlene (Linford) Batty, Tammy (Lewis) Peterson, Lorna (Neil) Anderson, Marcia (Bill) Critton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack A. Swaner, a son Michael Swaner, a daughter Jacqueline Swaner, her father James S. Clark and a little sister Jimmy Norlene Clark.
