Funeral services for William McCormick, 61, who died at Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday, Jan. 8, following a stroke and a week's illness were held here Monday. Preliminary services at the home of his brother-in-law, John Culhane, Sr., At 8:30 A.M. were followed by 9 o'clock services at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. Arnold Palen officiated and burial was made in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Culhane, John Culhane Jr., Andrew Taglane, Edward O'Donnell, and John Layne of Rushford, and Charles Waste of St. Paul.

Mr. McCormack, well known to many Rushford residents, was born in Money Creek Township, August 25, 1879. He was married to Miss Rose Waste, who died Jan. 16, 1923. Mr. McCormack owned and operated a farm in Vinegar Hill until 1930 when he moved to St. Paul. About one-half years ago. He went to Arizona, where he continued to reside until his death.

Survivors are 2 sons, Harold and Robert, St. Paul, four daughters, Rosalyn, St. Paul; Mrs. Clarence (Irene) Bakken, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. John (Almyra) Young of St. Paul; Mrs. Leonard (Mildred) Gibson, Red Wing; one brother, D. J. McCormick of Winona, and seven grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. John Culhane, of Rushford, died in 1932.

Among those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Waste, Corrine and Aleen Waste, and John Gaffney of St. Paul; P. M. Dunn and Leo Moran of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Waste of Ladysmith, Wis., and many more relatives and friends from the Twin Cities, Rochester, St. Charles, Houston, Caledonia, Stewartville, Winona and vicinity.
