She was born Dec. 27, 1913, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late W. H. Harrison Greene and Alice Rebecca (Kuhn) Greene.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Luthern Church, Latrobe, where she sang in the church choir for many years. She was a graduate of Latrobe High School and the Indiana State Teachers College in Indiana, PA.
Prior to her retirement, she was a music teacher for over 21 years, having taught in the Latrobe Public Grade School and Greater Latrobe Junior High School. She also was a member of the Latrobe Music Club and the Pennsylvania and National Retired Teachers associations.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Melvin Gordon, in 1995 and their son, Lynn Melvin Gordon, in 1978.
