John V. MacBlane, 82, Harrisburg, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1923 in South Fork, PA, a son of the late Alexander S. and Nellie (Vinton) MacBlane. Mr. MacBlane was a retired Navy Veteran with service in World War II and the Korean War; also a retired PA State Liquor Store manager. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in W. Hanover Twp.; a member and Past Master of Harrisburg Lodge #629 F&AM; a member of the Harrisburg York Rite Bodies; and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Harrisburg Forest #43. He was also a lifetime member of all the following; the Fleet Reserve; Shellsville VFW Post #9639; Linglestown American Legion Post #272; the National Association for Uniform Services; and the National Rifle Association. Surviving are his wife, Frances L. (Cannon) MacBlane; a daughter, Catherine E., wife of Frank A. Lesher of Hershey; a son, Alexander S., husband of Marlina R. MacBlane of Harrisburg; 5 grandchildren, Nichole, Alexia and Luciano Lesher, and Caitlin and Brittany MacBlane; a sister, Florence Molnar of Homer City; and a brother, William MacBlane of Indiana, PA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly D. MacBlane and a brother, Robert MacBlane. Service Monday, July 11, 2005 beginning with a Masonic Service at Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Hershey. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
