Clara Caroline Wagner was born on the 30th day of September 1891 on a farm three miles west of Creighton and passed away on Monday, March 26, 1934 at her home eight miles southwest of Verdigre. Her age being 42 years, 5 months and 26 days.

She grew to womanhood on the farm of her birth and spent her whole life in Knox county. On the 30th day of June 1914, she was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to George Sukup, the wedding taking place at Creighton. To this union were born six children, four sons and two daughters, two sons preceding her in death.

Surviving to mourn the deep loss of a wife and mother are the husband; two sons, George and Marvin and two daughters, Mary Ann and Evelyn. Mary Ann and Marvin are twins. She is also survived by six brothers, John, George, Edward, Richard, Joe and Leo, all of Creighton; two sisters, Mrs. Joe W. Sukup of Creighton and Mrs. Joe Neyens of Geness, Idaho and a host of other relatives and friends. Her parents, one brother, Phillip, and two sisters, Mrs. Emelia Macke and Mrs. Mary Sladek, both of Creighton, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, March 23 at 10 o'clock at St. Wenceslaus church with requiem high mass being said by the Rev. Charles J. Oborny. Interment took place at St. Wenceslaus cemetery. The pallbearers were Andrew Mecke, John Sukup, Elmer Wagner, Henry Sukup, Leonard Sukup and Fredrick Sukup, they all being nephews of the deceased.

The untimely passing of Mrs. Sukup is a sad loss to her family and her many friends as she was a good wife, mother and friend to all, rendering many deeds to those in need and to those near and dear to her while on this earth.
