Alvin Carlyle Hunt, 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, died August 15, 1993 of cancer at his home in Richfield, Utah.
He was born December 21, 1915 in Salina, Utah to Thomas Alvin and Martha Jane Brown Hunt.He married his lifelong sweetheart, Alta Berthelson, September 6, 1936 in Richfield, Utah. They shared a wonderful marriage that spanned nearly 57 years. .
He resided most of his life in Richfield. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. He worked in the Chief Clerk's Office for General George C. Marshall in Washington D.C. He served in the Horse Cavalry in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He participated in building the American Legion Club House in Richfield upon his return.
He served as secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president of the Richfield Lion's Club. Served on the board of directors for the Richfield Chamber of Commerce.
He graduated with honors from Richfield High School. Graduate of University of Utah, received special recognition from the CPAs of Utah. He was an accountant in Richfield for many years and served many businesses and friends.
He was a fine fisherman. He loved all children and children loved him. He gave much pleasure to many people by taking them fishing at Fishlake. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of building a cabin there. He was a sweet and gentle man.
He is survived by his wife, Alta, Richfield; daughters: Linda Hunt Anton and husband, John, Kentfield, Calif.; Carole Hunt Casper and husband, Dennis, Bountiful; one son-in-law, Richard Johnson, Ogden; sisters: Ina Tuft, and Mrs. Weldon (Vee) Peterson, both of Monroe, Utah; Mrs. Mel (Lila) Christensen, Richfield; Thelma Loney, Ogden; brother: Thomas Hunt, Salt Lake City; special nephew: Bob Whyte, Ogden; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sylvia; sister, Ila.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. David Collins, Dr. Kushner, and to the Home Nurses who gave so much comfort to all of us.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 1993 at 1 p.m. in the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 50 So. 100 West, Richfield, Utah. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery, with Military Rites by the VFW Sevier Post #5050.
