Spencer L Crane was the son of John Lewis and Sarah Jane Crane. The family left Dawson County where he was born and moved to Valley Head, DeKalb County in Alabama in 1906.There he married Beulah Lillian Short and was the father of six children.He was a Farmer,stone mason and carpenter. After his wife's death he moved to Dahlonega and died there in 1960. He is buried at Mill Creek Church.
