June Alberta (Bentley) Shields was born in Alberta, Canada on June 13, 1919.
She moved to the U.S.A. when she was 13 and lived South Dakota where she became a U.S. citizen at the age of 18.
She worked as a reporter during the 1952 Eisenhower presidential campaign.
Shortly after, June moved to Portland, Oregon and married John William Shields. They had one son, Steven John Shields.
June and her family moved to Hayward, CA in 1966, where she volunteered in her church. Later the family moved back to Albany, Oregon, where she helped run the family printing business.
She passed away December 31, 1992 at the age of 73
