GALESBURG - Betty R. Hays, 67, 956 N. Cedar St., died at 7:58 a.m. Friday (Jan. 29, 1999) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born Dec. 20, 1931 in Galesburg, the daughter of William G. and Winnie M. Frakes Cunningham.
She married Joe Baker on Sept. 6, 1950, in Galesburg. He died in 1959. She married Joe Hays on July 27, 1963, in Galesburg.
Surviving are her husband, one stepson, David Hays, Tucson, Ariz., one daughter, Diane Mayes, Delavan, three step daughters, Cheryl Colclasure, Galesburg, Patricia Dailey, Lakewood, Wash., and Elizabeth Ann Morris, Wauna, Wash., one brother, Robert Cunningham, Fircrest, Wash., 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
She was a floral designer for Don's Flower Shop for 25 years. She retired in 1994.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, with Elder William Crisman officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospices of America and to the American Lung Association.
