Mrs. Clara Y. Gardner

SLIPPERY ROCK – Mrs. Clara Y. Gardner, 87, of Scott Township, Slippery Rock RD 2, died in the Bonnetti Convalescent Home in Harrisville, at 6 p.m. yesterday after an extended illness. She was born in Evans City in 1885 to the late Edwin and Caroline Frishkorn Young. She was married to Clarence C. Gardner and he preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1968. Mrs. Gardner was a member of South Plain Grove United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two sons, G. Edwin and Clarence Floyd, both of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Mrs. John (Blanche) Hoye of Volant and Miss Ruth E. Gardner of Slippery Rock Township; two brothers, William Young of Meridian and Earl Young of Ellwood City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Friends will be received at the Joseph W. Ligo Funeral Home, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Dr. Stanley Harker, interim pastor of the church. Burial will be in South Plain Grove UP Church Cemetery.
