Marjorie Alexander, 84, Seymour, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born in 1928 in Elmhurst, Ill., she was the daughter of George Gersham and Nellie Frances Stahl Graber. Her parents preceded her in death.

In June 1952, she married Dale Edward "Skip" Alexander Jr. He preceded her in death in 1967.

Marjorie was a graduate of Indiana University and a member of the National Honor Society and Pi Lambda Theta sorority. She retired in 1994 from Seymour-Jackson Elementary School after 30 years of service. Prior to that she taught at Elm Heights School in Bloomington, Clemens Vonnegut School in Indianapolis and was also employed with the Indiana State Library system.

She enjoyed gardening, volunteer tutoring and playing bridge. She attained National Master level status as a member of the American Contract Bridge League. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Seymour.

Survivors include two children, Laura Anne Alexander and Dale (Beth) Alexander III; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill (Florence) Graber; sister, Wilma (Gideon) Berman; and grandson, Little Skip.

Graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with Dr. Eugene Gladney officiating. There will be a Voss dove release.

Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel, Seymour.

Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church or to donor's choice of charity through the funeral home.
