Streets. The services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Hampton and were attended by many friends and relatives of the deceased interment occurred in Woodland Cemetery under direction of Gholson and Sons.

"Mrs. Louemma Mayne Died At A Ripe Old Age Saturday. Mrs. Louemma Mayne, aged 76 years, one of Ironton's truest and best mothers, died at 8:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Will Russell on north Third street, after a long and trying illness. Mrs. Mayne had been in poor health for some time, but her critical illness was not of long duration. She had suffered from ailments incident to advancing age for some time and throughout her illness everything possible was done for her relief and comfort. Mrs. Mayne had long been an honored and beloved residents of this city. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton, and an active and consecrated worker until incapacitated by reasons of age and illness. She accepted her sufferings with rare christian courage and fortitude and the end came as sleep to a tired child. Mr. Mayne, her husband, had been dead just a few days short of twenty-six years, but the following children survive: Mrs. Will Russell, Chief of Police George Mayne, John, Thomas and Charles Mayne, of Ironton, and Mrs. Hester Ury of Portsmouth. Mrs. Mayne was one of God's noble women, a devoted, sacrificing mother, and a genial, companionable friend. The arrangments for the funeral will be announced later."(Semi Weekly Register 1-14-1919)
