Bud was born in Silverton, OR. and graduated from Silverton High School in 1939. Bud was the eldest of 13 children. He is preceded in death by 10 of his siblings. In January, 1942 he joined the Army. He was selected for the Air Corp and was sent to the 308th Bomb Squadron, 14th Air Forces (the Flying Tigers) as an aircraft engine mechanic. He was stationed in China, Burma, and India. Bud was discharged in 1945, at the end of WWII. He married his sweetheart, Josephine (Stadler), on Valentine's Day, 1946. Bud and Jo have three children, Steven, Kathleen and Virginia. They lived in Salem, and attended St. Vincent DePaul Catholic church until they moved to Shaw (Aumsville) in 1973. Bud had a long career as a carpenter, and building contractor.

He followed his wife Jo who passed away on January 6, of this year at Mt. Angel Towers. Bud had been living at the Oregon Veteran's home in The Dallas for the last two years.

He loved hunting and fishing with his family, and working in his wood shop.

Bud's service will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shaw, 9168 Silver Falls Highway. With a Rosary at 10:30, and mass at 11:00 AM Saturday Feb. 16, 2013.

Bud and Jo will be interred together in the cemetery at St. Mary's. The church Altar Society will serve luncheon in the parish hall after the service. Contributions may be made in Bud's name to the Oregon Veteran's home, 700 Veterans Dr. The Dallas, Oregon, 97058 or to the St. Mary's Altar Society.
