Luba (Dworetsky) Sakier, 88, of West Hartford, died Thursday (August 2, 2001). She was the wife of the late Ben Sakier. She was born and raised in Poland and was a survivor of the Holocaust.

She lived in West Hartford since 1970 and prior to that in South Fallsburg, NY, and then in Hartford. She worked for the Dept. of Motor Vehicles for many years. Luba was a life member of Hadassah and was also most recently a member of the Adult Day Center of the Hebrew Home & Hospital in West Hartford.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and a kind and caring person who enjoyed the company of relatives and friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Henry Levine of Wethersfield; her grandchildren, Debora and Jonathan Levine of Wethersfield; her nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Seymour Sakier and her sister, Miriam Rabinowitz.

Funeral Services will be TODAY at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with internment immediately following at the Ados Israel Cemetery, Hartford.

A memorial period will be observed at the home of her daughter, 375 Goff Rd., Wethersfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hebrew Home & Hospital, 1 Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford 06117 or to Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield 06002 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
