John Robert Beggs, 90, a resident of Lafayette Healthcare Center, died at 3:30 AM Tuesday, March 9, 1982, in St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born Dec. 21, 1891, in Terre Haute, and came to Lafayette several years ago. Mr. Beggs was formerly a conductor for the Pullman Co. and for a number of years was the attendant at the parking lot at Second and Ferry streets.
Surviving are a son, Jack Beggs; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Smith, both of Detroit, MI; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Crawley of Studio City, CA. Service March 11, Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Guy N. Brown officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
