British Archaeologist. Best known for his appearance on "Time Team".English archaeologist. Aston taught at numerous universities across the United Kingdom. He was popularly known for appearing as a resident academic on Channel 4 television series 'Time Team' from 1994 to 2011. An only child born and raised in Oldbury to Harold and Gladys, he attended Oldbury Grammar School. He had a childhood love of archaeology, despite his school's best attempts to dissuade him and later studied geography at the University of Birmingham. His career began in 1970 as field officer for the Oxfordshire museum, Woodstock, from where he moved in 1974 to become the Somerset county archaeologist.

Mick's funeral took place on 11th July at Weston-Super-Mare Crematorium.
