Frank David Ayers (aged 83) died on January 17, 1948 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

He was born on January 15, 1865 in Allin Township, McLean County, Illinois, a son of Joseph Bloomer Ayers and Sara Catherine (Haybarger) Ayers.

He was born the family farm that his father homesteaded. (Mosquito Grove was the original name for Allin township. In 1867 the name of the township was changed to Allin in honor of James Allin, pioneer of the county.)

Frank never married, but had a large interest in his family and its history. As an attorney he was used to research and keeping of records and is largely responsible for being one who worked tirelessly on the Ayers family genealogy.

He was educated at Illinois Wesleyan University, in Bloomington, Illinois; admitted to the bar in 1890; began practice at Ottawa, Illinois going to Chicago, Illinois in 1893; was Chicago assistant city attorney 1903-1906; becoming Chicago city attorney 1907. He also served as attorney for the Chicago City Terminal Railroad.

He was a member of the Masons, Knights of Pythias and several other clubs.
