Montague - Gerald J. Richotte, 57, died Monday (Jan 1, 2001) at home following a six-months illness.
Born in in Montague, June 5, 1943, he was the son of Rene Sr. and Eda (Gagne) Richotte. He attended Turners Falls School. He had bee a lifelong resident of Montague.
Richotte was the assistant superintendent of the Turners Falls Water Departement, where he was employed for 37 years.
He served in the Massachusetts National Guard for 17 years.
He was a communicant of St.Mary of the Assumption Church in Turners Falls.
He was a member of the Schuetzen Verein, the Elks Lodge and the St.Stanislaus Society.
He enjoyed pool, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, the former Christine A. Brunelle; two sons Michael P. of Greenfield MA and Brad A. of Hampton VA; a daughter Kim M. Stone of Montague; six brothers, Rene Jr., Curtis, Eugene and Donald, all of Montague, James of Schenectady NY and Joseph of Port Orange FL; five sisters, Claire Jablonski and Phyllis Voudren both of Montague, Carol Krol of Ashfied, Jacqueline Tuminski of Syracuse NY and Christine Garbiel of Lexington KY; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A son, Timothy, died Sept. 11, 1994.
Predeceased by his brother Roland in 1993.
Services, all in Turners Falls, Saturday from the Kostanski Funeral Home, followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Assumption Church with the Rev. Stanley J. Aksamit, pastor, officiating. Burial in St. Anne's Cemetery.
