Joseph G. Adamets, 82, of Midland, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center, Bay City.
He was born in Uniontown, Pa., Nov. 13, 1910, and moved to Gladwin County as a youth where he was raised and educated. Mr. Adamets was a welder for Dow Chemical Co. from 1936 until he retired in 1973. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union and the Midland County Horse and Saddle Club.
Mr. Adamets and the former Frances Hill were married Dec. 4, 1932. She died June 15, 1989.
Surviving are 2 sons, Ronald of Jacksonville, Fla. and William of Midland; one daughter, Joan Spur of Midland; one sister, Helen DeBois of Gladwin; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Rites were held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Miller Funeral Home and burial was in Midland Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Midland. Gladwin County Record dated 8-18/1993.
