Killed in an auto accident.

From the Evening Journal Tribune Friday 6/1/1951
Plain City Youth Was Crash Victim
Seventeen year old Andrew W. Cary, of Plain City, an honor student, athlete and valedictorian of the Columbus Academy graduating class, was killed about 3:10 a.m. today in an auto accident 11 miles northwest of Columbus when his car crashed into a tree on State Route 33. Cary had attended several parties at the home of classmates in Columbus and was en route to his home in Plain City when the accident occurred. He was to be graduated Tuesday. The force of the crash uprooted a 40 foot tree on the side of the road and catapulted the Ford car 75 feet down the hill toward the Scioto river, according to the state patrol. The youth had left the home of Troy A. Feibel, 135 S. Harding rd. in Columbus shortly before the accident. Feibel's son, Jim, was Cary's classmate. He suffered a fractured skull and broken legs and was pronounced dead upon arrival at University Hospital in Columbus. Cary and his father, Andrew Cary, Sr. have been members of the Marysville Country Club for years and they have many friends in this city. The younger Cary was an all-round athlete and one of the better golfers of the local club and showed great promise in developing in that sport. He was one of the most popular members of the club. The youth was an only son of Mr. and Mrs. Cary. His father is an official of the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Plain City and widely known in Madison and Union county business and farming circles. Word of funeral arrangements had not been received by press time.
