Leo P. Roan Sr., 77, of Tioga Avenue, Kingston, died Monday at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, April 11, 1920, he was son of the late Eugene and Ann Mullin Roan of Forty Fort.
He graduated from Forty Fort High School, Wyoming Seminary and Penn State University, State College.
He was a malt broker for Kruss Milling of Illinois for many years. Before retiring, he was employed as director of the Foster Grandparents Program at White Haven Center.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Church, North Maple Avenue, Kingston, and a former member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, Swoyersville, where he had served as Eucharist Minister.
He was a longtime resident of Forty Fort and was active in Little League and the Forty Fort Volunteer Fire Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Butler Weaver Roan; a daughter, Carol Geyer; a son, Paul; and a sister, Nancy Timothy.
Surviving are daughters Mollie Moffatt, Split Rock; Patricia, Kingston; sons Leo P. Jr., Florida; Eugene, Kingston; seven grandchildren; brothers Andrew F., Florida; William E., Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Hugh B. Hughes and Son Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
