Raymond J. Touchstone, age 98, of the Floyd Springs Community, Armuchee, passed away on Sunday night, May 27, 2013 at Oak View Health Care in Summerville, GA.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Touchstone was born on January 7, 1915 the son of the late Grady Jett Touchstone and the late Olyra Vinna Martin Touchstone. Mr. Touchstone had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church. For a period of time Mr. Touchstone was associated with Shannon Mills and prior to his retirement was an insurance agent. Mr. Touchstone was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Wanda Ray Kanowski and Nancy Sue Ashworth and by 4 sisters, Evelyn Duke, Ezma Aycock, Pauline Dew and Mary Helen Rogers.
Survivors include 1 son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Judy Touchstone of Summerville, GA.; 1 sister, Marcelle Grigsby of Floyd Springs; a brother-in-law, Forrest Dew of Rome; 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive as do nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Raymond J. Touchstone will be held on Thursday morning, May 30, 2013 at 11 o'clock from the graveside of Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Dan Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Touchstone will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening, May 29, 2013 from 6 until 8 o'clock.
